Yeah, Jessica Alba is doing the movie. Apparently she’s more high-profile than the actress previously rumored for the role, Rose McGowan.

Here’s the thing, in the original movie, Jane Fonda cavorted around topless and bottomless, not to mention wearing a plastic see-through bra. Jessica has repeatedly stated she is never going to appear nude in any movie. And I fully support that. She’s cute and adorable.

But Barbarella is all about the skin:

The original Barbarella movie was an erotic science fiction film set in A.D. 40,000, and was based off the French Barbarella comic book by Jean-Claude Forest. The star of the movie was Barbarella (played by Jane Fonda), a young woman who has a number of exciting (and erotic) adventures while traveling around the galaxy. Think lots of futuristic voyages and situations, plus a lot of sex mixed in there. In other words, when this movie comes out, leave the kids at home.

I don’t think Alba — who wouldn’t appear nude in Sin City, where she played a stripper — is the right person for a movie about a intergalactic sex kitten. Sorry.

Rose McGowan, is all about that, though:
